A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Sept. 6

Theft: A woman reported miscellaneous items that included pairs of shoes, compact discs, food and dishes missing from her North Avenue apartment.

Arrest: Officers responded to a complaint about an unwanted person at a Trumbull Avenue apartment, where they took into custody Emily Kwiecinski, 40, of Trumbull, Girard. She was wanted on a Trumbull County 911 center warrant.

Criminal mischief: A North Avenue woman noticed damage to her car’s front fender and the casing around one of its headlights. Damage came to about $300.

Sept. 7

Menacing: A worker with a U.S. Route 422 restaurant told officers a man showed up at her place of employment unannounced. Earlier, he had come to her home and turned on an outdoor spigot, she also reported.

Harassment: A Hazel Street man said his former wife has sent and made a series of text messages and calls, some of which were derogatory in nature.

Harassment: A Temperance, Mich., man said a Girard man with whom he refused to conduct further business threatened and swore at him.

Theft: A woman reportedly returned to her Hazel Street residence to find some of her prescription medications missing.

Drugs: Police noticed a vehicle parked on private property near the Mahoning River before charging David L. Liscomb, 50, of Salt Springs Road, Girard, with criminal trespassing and drug abuse. Liscomb admitted having a small bag of suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe, a report stated.

Sept. 9

Auto theft: A 2005 Hyundai Elantra was stolen in the 300 block of Elruth Court.

Possible theft: The owner of a Route 422 business told police she caught a man going through her car before he fled on foot. Nothing appeared to be missing, however.

Inducing panic: Authorities responded to a report of someone pointing a gun at people near Plymouth Avenue before confronting a juvenile who reportedly had a BB gun. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, though.

Possible overdose: Police answered a call regarding someone who may have suffered a drug overdose in the 100 block of East Main Street, where a man reportedly told paramedics he had taken about nine pills that were Alprazolam, a controlled substance typically used to treat moderate to severe pain. He was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

Sept. 10

Criminal mischief: An employee for a Route 422 restaurant reported leaving work to discover someone had smashed a rear window to her vehicle. Damage was estimated at $400.

Criminal mischief: A 14-year-old boy and his father alleged another boy, also 14, likely smashed the son’s $200 iPhone.

Arrest: Police near East Main Street apprehended William McConnell, no information given, then charged him with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after alleging McConnell had led authorities on a foot chase. He also refused several times to enter his cell after the arrest, a report showed.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Forsythe Avenue woman said a man took and failed to return her 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

LIBERTY

Sept. 6

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed Douglas M. Uher, 32, to township authorities. Uher, of Hadley Avenue, Liberty, was wanted on probation-violation charges.

Arrest: Authorities in downtown Youngstown picked up O’Keefe A. Brown, 23, of West Ravenwood Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Domestic violence: A 16-year-old Liberty boy was charged with the crime after his stepfather alleged the teen had repeatedly punched him from behind in the head and face when the accuser had told the enraged boy not to hurt another family member.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of Riccardo Newman, 53, of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, who was wanted on a Weathersfield Township warrant.

Sept. 7

Damage: A Murray Hill Drive man reported someone had pulled into his driveway, then got out and damaged a tire on his car. Damage came to $400.

Drugs: While responding to a possible theft at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, officers charged Karrie A. Kascsak of Sugar Pines Drive, Warren, with criminal trespassing and drug abuse as well as possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. Kascsak, 29, who violated a criminal-trespassing warning, had a small quantity of suspected marijuana, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, a spoon with burn marks common in drug use and a hypodermic needle, a report showed.

Sept. 8

Arrest: Authorities picked up Teqwan I. Scott, 22, at the Mahoning County jail. Scott, of Marion Street, Struthers, was wanted on a township warrant.

Menacing: A Green Acres Drive man said his former girlfriend has been stalking him for about a month and making multiple unwanted calls claiming he had abused her.

Damage: A Dryden Avenue woman alleged that during an argument, her boyfriend’s former girlfriend tossed ab object at her vehicle, leaving a dent and scratches.

Sept. 9

Arrest: Officers answered a complaint pertaining to a person who was not wanted at a state Route 193 restaurant before arresting Yvonne Buck, 58, no address listed. Buck was wanted on an Austintown warrant charging criminal trespassing.

Theft: A Greensburg, Pa., man discovered a $30 cellphone charger was missing while he was at a Belmont Avenue motel.

Sept. 10

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported $350 had been removed from her wallet as she shopped at a Goldie Road big-box store.

Theft: A Logan Gate Road woman discovered her purse missing from her car.

HUBBARD

Sept. 6

Citation: Officers received a complaint that a cat had damaged a woman’s flower bed and mulch, then handed a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Diann M. Wess, 42, of Princeton Avenue, Hubbard, with allowing an animal to run at large.

Sept. 7

Criminal mischief: An East Liberty Street man saw that a motorist had driven through and damaged a portion of his yard. Also damaged was a security camera.

Theft: A Caroline Avenue man noticed an American flag had been removed from his front yard.

Sept. 8

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant home in the 900 block of Saul Drive via a rear door, though it seemed nothing was missing or had been disturbed.

Harassment: A Stewart Avenue woman alleged a Southington man, 21, has sent her text messages that were threatening and derogatory.
