Man dies in 1-car crash in Ellsworth Township
ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP
A Vienna Township man, Justin D. Schmidt, 27, died from injuries suffered in a one-car crash at 9:45 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 224 between Ellsworth and South Bailey roads in Ellsworth Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Canfield Post, Schmidt was westbound on Route 224 when he traveled off the north edge of the highway, struck a culvert, hit a tree and was ejected from the vehicle.
Schmidt, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The OSHP said alcohol and drugs are suspected to be factors in the crash.
Driver hits parked cars on Boardman street

A man was sent to the hospital early Sunday after running into two parked cars and tearing through several yards with his vehicle on Terrace Drive.
The driver, who witnesses said was disabled and used a wheelchair, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
Boardman police, who are investigating, suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.

A two-vehicle crash at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 224 just east of state Route 534 left two people injured.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Canfield Post, Deborah L. Harr, 62, of Akron, was westbound on Route 224 when she ran into the rear of a vehicle driven by Matthew S. Murdock, 40, of Canfield, who was stopped westbound on the highway.
Harr’s vehicle went off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and overturning. Harr and a juvenile passenger were transported to University Hospital in Ravenna for treatment of their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the OSHP.
