Mayoral forum set

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Government Affairs Council will host a mayoral forum from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sept. 19 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

The date of this forum was originally Aug. 15 but was rescheduled.

Business leaders with a financial interest in the city will have an opportunity to express themselves directly to the Youngstown mayoral candidates during this forum, emceed by Guy Coviello, chamber vice president of government affairs, and moderated by The Vindicator’s political columnist Bertram DeSouza. Independent candidates Sean McKinney, Janet Tarpley and Cecil Monroe, and Democratic Party nominee Jamael Tito Brown are scheduled to appear.

The cost is $25 for members, and $35 for nonmembers.

Chamber luncheon

Free workshops

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority will have a workshop Oct. 10 on “Understanding Medical Bills and How to Avoid Unnecessary Changes.” The workshops will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m.

All workshops take place at the housing authority, 131 W. Boardman St. downtown.

The workshops are free, but registration is required at least one day before each workshop. Call 330-744-2161, ext. 251, to register.

Manufacturing event

CLEVELAND

A “Future of Manufacturing” event is scheduled from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Cleveland State University, Student Center Ballroom, 2121 Euclid Ave. The event is free.

Special guest Glenn Richardson, managing director for Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace at Jobs-Ohio, will share JobsOhio’s advanced manufacturing strategy and its implications for our region.
