CANFIELD

The nature education standing committee to the Mill Creek MetroParks board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The finance standing committee will meet at 10 a.m. next Saturday.

The wildlife standing committee will meet at 2 p.m. Sept. 19; the community engagement standing committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22; and the development standing committee will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 22.

All meetings take place in Classroom A at the MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

Trustees meeting

NEWTON FALLS

Newton Township trustees will have a special meeting at 9 a.m. today in the administration building, 4410 Newton Falls Bailey Road.

9/11 stair climb

BOARDMAN

Boardman Fire Department and #BUILTBYWHIT are sponsoring a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sunday at the new Boardman High School Spartan Stadium, 7777 Glenwood Ave., behind the high school.

Warm-up begins at 7:30 a.m., and the climb starts at 8. All ages are welcome. Weather-appropriate clothes and shoes are to be worn. The climb honors the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers and 10 EMS responders who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., and all those who survived and still serve and protect.
