New competition for rock bands

NASHVILLE, Tenn.

Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale says what today’s new artists need to be successful is extremely good music, a great team and a lot of luck.

Rossdale is lending his voice to a new talent competition, called neXt2rock 2017, with Cumulus Media radio stations to find undiscovered rock artists throughout the country. The winner will earn a record deal.

WaterFire festival seeks volunteers

The next ‘Bachelor’ has familiar name

NEW YORK

ABC has announced race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. as its next “Bachelor.” Luyendyk was revealed as the leading man for the reality competition on “Good Morning America” on Thursday.

Luyendyk was the runner-up on the eighth season of “The Bachelorette” in 2012, failing to win the heart of Emily Maynard.

He has competed in the IndyCar, Indy Lights and other racing series. His father is two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk.
