Method 8, a local film producing group that has completed hundreds of projects in the past 10 years, will disband this year with its final movie, “Jackie and the Rabbit’s Foot.”
The film will be screened Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Fairview Arts and Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road. Tickets are $15, which includes a meal.
All proceeds will benefit Method 8’s performing arts programs.
“Jackie” is a 50-minute film about a couple touched by cancer who find themselves in a circle of desperation as they attempt to find a cure. It is dedicated to victims of the disease, said Brian K. West, founder and owner of Method 8.
The cast includes West, Joyce Jones, Cassandra Arcenio, Alecia DeFrank, Lou O’Neill, Sheyra Vazquez, Edward Frame, Solomon Kennedy, Takisha Lambert and Drew Smith.
The film features a song by local artist India Raven.
Toni Zetts of Poland, a singer and three-time cancer survivor, will perform at the screening, which will also include testimonials from others affected by the disease.
