Exhibit at McDonough Museum
“Salon de Fleurus” opens Friday at the McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., on the campus of Youngstown State University. The exhibition is a reconstruction of Gertrude Stein’s Paris salon that existed from 1904-34. It was a gathering place for young artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Stein herself. The re-creation of the salon existed as a semi-private salon in Manhattan until 2014 and is now touring. Also opening Friday at the McDonough is a photo exhibition by Kelli Connell titled “Double Life: Fifteen Years.” The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
