FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; macaroni and cheese, haluski, pirogi or french fries; green beans or coleslaw; roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 state Route 193 at state Route 305, will serve a chicken-pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children six to 12, and 5 and under eat for free. The menu includes potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, beverage and dessert. Takeouts will be available. For information, call Donna at 330-638-5189.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, will host the “Second Saturday Supper, ”a stuffed cabbage dinner, which also includes mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread and butter, dessert and beverage from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and children under 12 are $5. Takeouts are available.

SUNDAY

Cultural Society of St. John the Baptist Church and Christ the Good Shepherd Parish will offer a stuffed cabbage dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist church hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, The cost for adults is $10 and $5 for children. Take-out orders are available and containers are provided. There will also be basket raffle tables and a 50-50 raffle. Pre-sale tickets are available from members of St. John’s Cultural Society, or call Mariann at 330-755-1979. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own. The seniors will sponsor a raffle during the dinner hour.

TUESDAY

First United Methodist Church of Columbiana has canceled the dinner for September but will resume in October. The date will be announced.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will sell chicken noodle soup, potato soup, homemade pepperoni rolls, fresh baked bread and homemade sticky buns Sept. 16. Soup is $5 per quart and a $3 per pint. Pepperoni rolls are $8 for a large and $2.50 for a single. Bread is $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf. Sticky buns are 4 for $2.50. Orders must be placed by Sept. 13 by calling 330-759-1460. After deadline for orders, items will be only as available. Pickup will take place at the church from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

St. Stephen of Hungary Church Holy Apostles Parish will host a stuffed cabbage carryout sale for orders to be picked up Sept 17. Orders must be placed by Monday, by calling Dorothy at 330-783-2252. Cost is $25 for one dozen cabbage rolls. They will be packaged in a foil pan that can be reheated in the oven or frozen. Pickup will take place at the church, 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept 17.

Saxon Culture Group's semiannual sausage sale will offer 3- and 5-pound packages of large links in mild, hot and Saxon-recipe garlic flavors and 5-pound packages of bulk in all flavors. The cost is $3.50 per pound. Orders should be picked up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. VFW Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a spaghetti dinner Sept. 14 sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The menu consists of spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.
