Youngstown police investigate beating at private prison

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating after an inmate at the private prison on the East Side was hospitalized early Sunday morning.

Reports said officers were called about 3:55 a.m. to the prison on Youngstown-Hubbard Road, where they were told the inmate was beaten in a cell by another inmate.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
