Youngstown firefighters kept busy battling blazes
YOUNGSTOWN — City firefighters over the weekend battled four blazes at three different homes.
Firefighters were called to a 3407 Belden Ave. home, the first time about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, where they found the house entirely engulfed in flames and allowed it to burn down while protecting nearby homes. Damage there was listed at $17,800, a total loss. Firefighters returned about 6:20 p.m. Monday where they found a small fire among the debris and quickly put it out. The homeowner is listed as someone from San Francisco.
About 3:20 a.m. Sunday, firefighters were called to a 103 N. Lakeview Ave. home and found a fire on the back porch and the roof over the porch. Damage there is listed at $3,000.
Just before midnight Sunday firefighters were called to a 1321 Douglas Ave. home where they found a fire on the side of the first floor. Damage there is listed at $5,000. Reports listed the owner of the home as someone from the Ukraine.
