Dominion foundation offers $500K in grants

Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation is offering $500,000 in grants to organizations providing essential services to active-duty military, their families and veterans.

Dominion Energy Ohio invites local veterans’ services organizations to apply for a $50,000 competitive grant.

Eligible organizations in Ohio, Connecticut, Maryland, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and other areas within Dominion’s footprint, can submit applications through Oct. 9. Recipients will be announced in November.

AVP relocates to downtown area

A veteran company under new ownership has relocated to the Commerce Building and joined the Downtown Youngstown Renaissance.

Advantage Video Production has moved to Youngstown from its former location in Warren.

The company’s new home, at 201 E. Commerce St., Suite 310, features ample studio space, a large “green screen” for full-body and large-group shots and easy access to parking.

AVP also has a commercially licensed drone operator to allow more options and creativity.

898 Marketing teams with Catholic Diocese

898 Marketing, a strategic marketing and creative consultancy in Canfield, is in a partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.

898 Marketing will assist the Diocese in developing a content strategy that includes the creation of a new website to help bolster the online branding efforts of the Diocese, as well as using different technologies to unite parishes, parishioners and their faith-based community.

The new website is scheduled to be released in May 2018 as part of the Diocese of Youngstown’s Jubilee, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and its dedication to ministering and serving people in Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, Stark and Trumbull counties.

Nanotechnology solution for airport

AKRON

The Akron-Canton Airport has launched a nanotechnology solution that uses light to clean checkpoint bins 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Provided by Western Reserve Hospital and developed by NanoTouch Materials, new specially designed NanoSeptic mats and skins for the checkpoint bins contain mineral nano-crystals. They create a self-cleaning oxidation reaction that’s stronger than bleach, continuously breaking down organic contaminants.
