Devoted to fair – and each other

A couple who had their first date at the fair more than 50 years ago were among the fair’s visitors this week.

Margaret and James Litwin of Canfield got engaged six months after that date, then married a year after their engagement.

Next year they will celebrate 50 years of marriage, Margaret said.

The couple comes back to the fair every year, often visiting with their children and grandchildren.

“We show them around and show them all the places we used to go,” said Margaret.
