Officer chases man into bedroom and finds bags of weed
YOUNGSTOWN
Reports said a city police officer Thursday chased a man inside a Hudson Avenue home and up the stairs to a bedroom.
Officers Jessica Shields and Nick Bailey tried to pull over a car about 2:35 p.m. driven by Daquan Lake, 18, no address listed, for running a stop sign. Instead of stopping, Lake drove to a home in the 3000 block of Hudson Avenue, where he got out of the car and ran inside the house and up the stairs.
Bailey followed Lake inside the house and Lake looked like he was carrying a gun, reports said. Reports said Lake locked himself in a room but Bailey kicked the door down and ordered Lake to the floor at gunpoint.
Inside the bedroom police found six bags of marijuana. Reports said a fan that was in a window before Lake entered the room was not there and Lake could have thrown a gun out the window, where several people were standing below. Police did not find a gun, reports said.
