Bond set at $100K for Boardman robbery suspect
BOARDMAN — Bond was set today at $100,000 for a defendant township police say stole a car, attempted to rob a McDonald’s, and then robbed a Huntington Bank.
Michael Varchulik, 48, of Campbell appeared in Mahoning County Area Court here today for arraignment. No plea was accepted on charges of attempted aggravated robbery, robbery, and receiving stolen property, according to court records.
He is scheduled to be back in court Thursday.
The charges stem from incidents reported last Thursday. Police said Varchulik stole a car at a Midlothian Boulevard gas station, attempted to rob the McDonald’s on Western Reserve Road, then robbed Huntington Bank on U.S. Route 224.
