UPDATE | Boardman police arrest Medina man on gambling charges

An arrest Monday of a Medina man on gambling-related charges was the result of an Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation probe into suspected illegal gambling at a township business.

Township police arrested David Barna, 51, Monday on warrants for two counts of gambling and one of operating a gambling house.

Ohio AG spokeswoman Jill Del Greco said BCI agents served a search warrant at Player’s located on U.S. Route 224 in December and that the investigation led to Barna’s arrest.

She said the case now is in the hands of the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s office.
