Youngstown Foundation names grant recipients


YOUNGSTOWN — The Distribution Committee of The Youngstown Foundation awarded grants totaling $460,111 to 15 area organizations.

Additionally, close to $212,000 was distributed to local nonprofits through the foundation’s Support Fund program.

Youngstown Foundation unrestricted fund third-quarter grants include: Associated Neighborhood Centers ($20,000); Big Brothers Big Sisters ($10,000); Boys & Girls Club of Youngstown ($20,000); City Club of the Mahoning Valley ($20,000); Compass Family & Community Services ($65,000); Easter Seal Society ($10,000); Etruscan Press ($5,000); Fresh Coast Communities ($15,000); Help Network of Northeast Ohio ($15,000); Home for the Aged doing business as Paisley House ($20,000); SCORE ($7,500); and Youngstown Symphony Society ($20,000).

Of the 15 grants awarded, three organizations committed to serving Youngstown children with diagnosed disabilities received funds from the Hine Memorial Fund of the Youngstown Foundation.

Recipients of the third-quarter Hine grants include: SMARTS ($41,915); Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. ($16,500); and Potential Development/Operation Search & Help Program ($174,196).
