AUCTIONS

Campbell Memorial High School will host a quarter auction at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Byzantine Church, 463 Robinson Road. Cost is $5 for one paddle and $3 for each additional paddle. Proceeds will benefit the Campbell High School classes of 2020 and 2021 and will be used for dances, prom, commencement and more. Local vendors and small business owners will be available to shop during the auction.

BINGO

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Infant of Prague Guild, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will host its annual bingo and card party luncheon Sunday in St. Joseph the Provider Hall. Doors will open at 11 a.m., lunch will be served from noon to 12:45 p.m., and bingo will start at 1. The cost is $6, and there will be door prizes and raffles. St. Patrick Church, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host an Altar and Rosary bingo and card party at 1 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $6 per person, and a light lunch will be served. The church is handicapped accessible. There will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle and door prizes.

CRAFT SHOWS

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will host its fourth annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be eight independent vendors selling primitives, folk art, wooden puzzles, handmade jewelry, fall/winter decor, wall hangings, bibs, aprons, homemade goat-milk soap, lotions, paintings on wood, slate and canvas, knit and crochet items and food. The proceeds from table rentals will go to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund and the basket auction proceeds will benefit the church building fund. Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Niles, will host The ChristmasTown Artisan Shoppes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. More than 30 local artisans, boutique owners, and businesses will offer one-stop shopping featuring artwork, fine crafts, home decor, jewelry, boutique clothing and homemade baked goods. There also will be a cafe for lunch, live music, gift drawings, an ornament-making booth and more. A featured jewelry maker will be Karen Rumple, Mahoning Valley native and missionary to the Dominican Republic. Proceeds from her sales will benefit the Widow Program she started with Grace and Peace Missionary Fellowship in the Dominican Republic. Rumple’s booth will have many pieces of jewelry made from Blue Larimar, the rarest form of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oaks Center Initiative, a resource for children and youth of the Mahoning Valley as well as for those overcoming addictions.

Our Lady of the Lakes Ladies Guild will host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lakes Family Center, 1254 Grandview Road, Lake Milton. St. Christine Twinning Ministry will host a holiday craft show to raise funds for the church’s sister parish in Uganda. Mahoning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is announcing “Shop for Honor,” a Veterans Day fundraiser to support local veterans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at Bethel Friends Social Hall, 2771 Spitler Road, Poland. Admission is free. Local independent sales consultants and craft vendors will sell products just in time for the holidays. In addition to gifts, there will also be a basket auction and bake sale with a sitting area for guests to enjoy desserts and coffee. You do not need to be present to win the basket auction. Recipes of Youngstown group on Facebook will host a fall tasting event to honor the Armed Forces and to promote the group’s third cookbook. “Stars, Stripes & Servings” will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., in downtown Youngstown. More than 30 family dishes will be prepared by bakers whose recipes are included in the new cookbook. A portion of the proceeds will be used to fund a newly established scholarship at the YSU Foundation to provide assistance to military veterans finishing their education. Springfield Township EMS Auxiliary/Association has joined forces with Springfield Township Council of Churches and Community to host a fall beef tip and noodle dinner fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. in New Middletown. St. Patrick Church in Youngstown will host its fall Sauce and Song event Sunday. Proceeds will benefit Catholic Charities hurricane relief. Friends of the Library, Canfield Committee, will host a Christmas at the White House with the First Ladies holiday tea at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Canfield Public Library. The fundraiser features the Salem Preservation Society portraying four former First Ladies discussing the holiday season during their time in residence. Tea sandwiches and sweets will be served. Bringing a favorite teacup is optional. Raffle prizes include tickets to an Ohio State football game, jewelry and other items. Youngstown State University is continuing the free lecture series on Energy and the Environment for the fourth academic year at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Cushwa Hall, Room B100. This fall the impacts of fossil fuel take center stage. There is free parking along Lincoln Avenue and nearby streets. The speaker series is sponsored in part by The James Dale Ethics Center. The program will feature Dr. Kim Anderson of Oregon State University via Skype. “Mobile Device for Measuring Chemical Exposures, Location and Respiratory Health and Comparisons with Conventional Technologies,” with examples from Ohio, Oregon, New York, Africa and Peru.

Boardman United Methodist Church is collecting items for Veterans Outreach. Items needed include white tube socks, toilet paper, toiletries, shampoo, bar soap, body wash, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, disposable razors, and combs and brushes. Drop off donations at 6809 Market St., Boardman.

Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, will host its annual trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There also will be food for sale including homemade vegetable beef soup, pork and sauerkraut sandwiches, sloppy joes, hot dogs, pie and various baked goods. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., all clothing will be $1 a bag and all merchandise will be half price. Proceeds will benefit local charities and the church’s women’s programs.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will be having a rummage sale in the Parish Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 11 and 12. On Nov. 12, all merchandise will be priced at one half off.

Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, North Lima, will host its fall rummage sale at 410 W. South Range Road. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday with a bake sale; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday with lunch available; and 9 a.m. to noon next Monday will be $1 bag day. Girard Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary has chosen the USO of Northeastern Ohio as its charity for November. Members and anyone interested are asked to donate baby items, diapers, lotion, baby shampoo, bottles, diaper cream, outfits, blankets (newborn to 6 months) to be given to the USO. The ladies will put together “Baby Sea Bags” and will distribute them to Ohio service members and families who are expecting or have recently added a new member. Poland Lions will host a “Blanket of Kindness” Drive throughout November and will be collecting new and gently used, washable blankets and comforters in all sizes for children and families in need. Youngstown Model Railroad Association will have an open house Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and 12 and Dec. 2 and 3. The open house is at 751 N. Four Mile Run Road. Ohio Living Park Vista Senior Center will host a trip to Wheeling Island and festival of lights at Oglebay at 8 a.m. Nov. 15. The bus leaves the center at 8:30 to meet the rest of the group at 9 at Youngstown Skate, 7080 Tiffany Boulevard, Boardman. A $25 casino slot incentive will be given upon arrival. Bus will depart at 4 p.m. to travel to Oglebay to shop and view the festival of lights. Payment is due at registration to reserve a seat.

Trumbull County Farm Bureau board of trustees invites the public to take a wine tour Saturday to visit three local destinations: Hartford Hill, Greene Eagle and Country Porch. The tour starts with tasting and a tour at 2:30 p.m. at Hartford Hill Winery and will serve as the first and last stop of the tour. The bus will depart for the next part of the tour at 3:30 p.m. sharp. The bus returns about 6:45 p.m. to Hartford Hill for dinner. The cost for Farm Bureau members is $30; nonmembers, $60.
