Colorado teens break into house, throw party and get arrested

PARKER, Colo.

Six teenagers were arrested after authorities said they broke into a Parker house and threw a party.

KMGH-TV reported that Mike Cox, who owns the house and recently put it up for sale, returned home from dinner Oct. 20 to find sheriff’s deputies and teenagers at his house.

Authorities say dozens of teens got into Cox’s house and posted photos and videos of themselves drinking in it on social media.

The teens left a broken window in the basement and broken glass in a shower.

Cox says it looks like one of them was standing on his counter top, showering his kitchen with his own champagne.

Cox says he hopes the teens are prosecuted.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were working to identify additional suspects.

Officers arrested the man after learning he was wanted on a pair of outstanding warrants.

Absent-minded shopper takes cart with baby, causing lockdown

PORTLAND, Maine

Police say an absent-minded shopper at a Maine grocery store took somebody else’s cart with a sleeping baby inside, causing a lockdown and a police investigation.

Portland police said the shopper was mortified when he realized his mistake but didn’t bother to alert anyone Oct. 27. Instead, the shopper left the cart in another part of the store and retrieved his own cart. Police said store video backed up his claim. Police Chief Michael Sauschuck said grocery store staff quickly locked down the store. Police determined the conduct didn’t warrant criminal charges.

The baby was restrained in a car seat and slept through the entire scare.
