Man faces kidnapping charges after domestic dispute

YOUNGSTOWN — A North Side man Sunday was arrested by a SWAT team after a domestic dispute at his home.

Reports said police were called about 8 p.m. to a home in the first block of Thornton Avenue where witnesses told police Ricky Carter, 26, dragged a woman and her children out of her car. He then held her, her children and a neighborhood child in his home, according to police.

Police set up a perimeter and Carter released everyone but would not come out of the house. The Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team was called and Carter surrendered without incident.

Carter was booked into the Mahoning County jail on four counts of kidnapping and domestic violence
