SENIOR CITIZENS
Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet for its monthly meeting at noon Friday at Lowellville City Hall conference room. Ernie Ciarniello, president, will preside. Nomination and election of officers for 2018 will take place after the regular meeting. Lunch will be provided. For reservations, call Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176. New members are welcome and do not have to be residents of Lowellville. Birthdays and anniversaries for November will be acknowledged. There will be bingo and a 50-50 raffle to follow the business meeting. The annual Christmas party is set for Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.
Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet for a special 70th birthday celebration Nov. 8 at the Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. A social will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch will be at 11:45. The meeting and program will follow. Susan Harris will preside. The program will include Veteran’s Recognition by Sgt. Mike Kubitza, commander of Canfield American Legion Post 177. Scholarship chairwoman, Joyce Mistovich, will introduce and present MRTA’s scholarship to a YSU School of Education student. June Logan will conduct the nomination and election of officers. This month’s community service project will be donations to the American Veterans Auxiliary. All area educators are invited.
