MAHONING COUNTY LEVIES


Children Services

A half-mill, five-year replacement levy that will generate $2,045,275 annually. It will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $17.50 annually.

The current levy, assessed at 1983 real-estate values, generates $1,302,246 annually and costs the owner of a $100,000 home $10.15 annually.

Children Services’ operating budget: between $15.2 million and $15.7 million, about 54 percent of which comes from two real-estate tax levies.

Western Reserve Transit Authority

A quarter-mill, continuing sales-tax renewal levy that generated $8,700,361 in 2016. It will cost the purchaser of a $10,000 car $25 in taxes.

Voters first approved the levy in 2008 and renewed the levy in 2012.

WRTA serves more than 1.6 million riders annually, 40 percent of whom are elderly or disabled.
