Ai-Media is seeking respeaker captioners

Ai-Media is looking for workers interested in being trained as live “respeaker” captioners. The company provides a three-week training program at its Youngstown office.

While no specific experience is required, an excellent command of the English language and the ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure is a must. As an independent contractor, an individual can work from home at hours he/she chooses. Starting rate is $19 per hour. Retaliation claims

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a human-resources hot topics event on workplace retaliation claims from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Residence Inn, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road.

For six-consecutive years, retaliation claims have topped the list of charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the trend is expected to continue.

Employees also are pursuing retaliation claims under other statutes, including the False Claims Act and numerous state laws. The session will address how to avoid common mistakes that could lead to a retaliation lawsuit or administrative charge.
