The annual Tri-County Healthy For Good Heart Walk on Sept. 30 drew 2,000 people, keeping on pace with last year’s attendance and raising $200,000 for the American Heart Association. The event is part of the association’s Healthy For Good movement, encouraging people to move more and make small changes in their everyday lifestyles to improve their overall health and well-being. Gary Soukenik, president and chief executive officer of Seven Seventeen Credit Union, was chairman of the event.

Beats for Phebee, walking on behalf of 4-year-old Phebee DeSalvo, who was recently diagnosed with FOXP1, a rare genetic anomaly that affects heart development, was the largest team fundraiser with more than $4,800. Mercy Health came in as the largest company fundraiser with more than $14,000.
