CLERK OF COURTS

SARAH BROWN-CLARK* (D)

Age: 68.

Employment: Clerk of courts.

Education: A master’s degree in 1972 in English and a bachelor’s degree in 1971, both from Ohio University, and a 1967 graduate of The Rayen School. Took classes toward a doctorate at Kent State University.

Family: Three children.

Priorities: Smooth transition to the new courthouse, maintain and increase public access to the courts, move to a paperless court, and keep abreast of technology.

DARIO HUNTER (I)

Age: 34.

Employment: Rabbi at Congregation Ohev Tzedek and a Youngstown school board member.

Education: A master of law degree in labor and employment law from Wayne State University, a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, a bachelor of law degree from the University of Windsor, a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University.

Family: Single.

Priorities: Actively pursue a consolidation of local services, follow up on employee assessments and initiate the process of reducing employees, and cooperate with the city on budgetary issues.

CARLA BALDWIN

Age: 37.

Employment: Magistrate at Mahoning County Juvenile Court.

Education: A law degree from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School, a bachelor’s degree in political science from Capital University.

Family: Single.

Priorities: Increase accessibility to mental-health and drug-treatment resources, continue the veterans court, and establish a special court to address both drug addiction and mental illness.

MARK HANNI

Age: 59.

Employment: Self-employed attorney.

Education: A law degree from Duquesne University, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

Priorities: Start a night court, start a drug court, and continue the veterans court.
