BBB meeting

The Better Business Bureau that serves Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties will have its annual Meeting of Accredited Businesses at 9 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Avalon Inn and Resort, 9519 E. Market St.

The agenda will feature a video presentation of the BBB TrustBuilders: Huntington Bank, Farmers National Bank, PNC Bank, Cortland Bank, Homes Savings Bank and Chemical Bank.

Ron Klingle, chairman and CEO of the Avalon Golf & Country Club, will share his vision for the Avalon Inn and highlights of the resort’s $20 million renovation and expansion.

T-Mobile offer

T-Mobile selected the Youngstown area as one of just three in the country for a special offer to customers.

Customers who visit one of the company’s participating stores and switch to T-Mobile can get a free smartphone (up to a $750 value) via mail-in rebate.

This offer is open to new and current T-Mobile customers who purchase any smartphone on T-Mobile’s interest-free equipment-installment plan. The $750 rebate comes as a prepaid MasterCard.

FirstEnergy Corp. reported third-quarter earnings of $396 million, or $0.89 per basic and diluted share of common stock, on revenue of $3.7 billion.

For the third quarter of 2016, the company reported earnings of $380 million, or $0.89 per basic and diluted share of common stock, on revenue of $3.9 billion.

Probe of Ford Fusion steering wheels that may loosen, detach

U.S. regulators are investigating complaints that steering wheels can come loose or fall off in the Ford Fusion, a midsize sedan.

A person in Georgia told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a steering wheel fell into their lap in a 2015 Fusion when turning into a gas station Sept. 23.

The agency opened the probe after receiving three complaints about loose steering wheels.

The probe revealed in documents posted Friday covers about 841,000 midsize sedans from the 2014 through 2016 model years.

No recall has been issued.
