The Junior Women’s League of Canfield hosted its 48th annual Fall Market on the Green on Sept. 16, with a record number of 210 vendors set up from one end of the Green to the other.

“We have 210 vendors here today. We are sold out for the first time. And we have many new vendors this year,” said Peggy Rowe, Junior Women’s League of Canfield member and Fall Market chairperson.

The vendors offered a variety of items, including fall, winter, holiday and sports-themed crafts, jewelry, homemade baked goods, personalized items, fruits and vegetables, and antiques and collectibles. Several service organizations were also on hand to inform visitors of their purpose and services.

The Fall Market is a group effort among the members of the Junior Women’s League of Canfield and is the organizations largest annual fundraiser. Members of the Junior Women’s League of Canfield were on hand all day to help, including selling 50/50 raffle tickets.

“The Fall Market would not be possible without all our members‘ help. I would like to thank all our club members for helping out with the Fall Market. It is an honor to serve as your Junior Women’s League second year president,” said Janice Jarvis, Junior Women’s League of Canfield president.

Proceeds from the Fall Market fund three $1,000 scholarships given to high school seniors each spring. Proceeds are also donated to various local community charities and organizations, including the Sojourner House, Beatitude House, Operation Blessing, Ulster Project, CHS Robotics Club, CHS Art Club, Wags for Warriors and color guard flags for the Canfield High School band. The club also donates $1,000 to each principal at each Canfield Local School to use as they see fit for their school. This year, the club with also donate to hurricane victims.

Several sponsors helped the Junior Women’s League of Canfield with the Fall Market this year, including corporate sponsor Chuck Eddy Automotive, Covelli Enterprises/Panera Bread, Boak and Sons, Inc,. C.A.R.S. of Canfield, Dr. Raymond Bernat of Advanced Dermatology, Lane Funeral Homes, Lane Life Corp., Tom Danko of State Farm Insurance, Whitehouse Fruit Farm, with a special thanks to White Family Franchise of Dunkin’ Donuts and Tri-State Investigations.
