Austintown boy struck by vehicle

AUSTINTOWN — A 13-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while walking to school this morning on Burkey Road in Austintown.

The boy sustained nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Police said the boy ran across Burkey Road while eastbound traffic was stopped, and he failed to yield to a car traveling in the westbound lane.
