‘Carrie’ at Ford theater

The newly revived Oakland Center for the Arts will open its season with “Carrie: The Musical,” a collaboration with Millennial Theatre Company. There will be two performances, 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, at Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., downtown. Tickets are $17 ($16 for seniors, $15 for students) and are available in advance at youngstownsymphony.com and by phone at 330-744-0264. The show is rated PG-13 due to language. It’s based on the Stephen King novel, which was made into a 1976 film and later a Broadway musical (1986). The show is being directed by Joe Asente, with choreographer Lea Buonavolonta and music director Savannah Florkowski. The cast includes Maah Cresanto in the title role; Sarah Ferguson-Burns, Ava Wilson, Jacob Nash, Cara DeChurch, Jacob Butler, Jojo Garcia, Christopher Scott, Sierra Boyle, Camilla Keener, Michelle Arch, Victor Labra, Trevor Patchen and Elijah DuPonty; the ensemble includes Halla Henry, Selena DuPonty, Emma James, Tyler Zuniga and Rebecca Williams.
