“The Music Man,SDRq Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville. Auditions will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, Pa., from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 2 and 7. Children (age 8 and up) and adults are needed for the large cast. Be prepared to sing a song from the show and read from the script for principal roles. Audition times must be scheduled by contacting the theater at 724-815-4388 or emailing actsharpsville@gmail.com. Performance dates are March 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25.

“The Fantasticks,SDRq Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville. Auditions will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, Pa., from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9 and from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 11. The show has a cast of eight people age 16 to 70. Be prepared to sing a song from the show and read from the script for all roles. Audition times must be scheduled by contacting the theater at 724-815-4388 or emailing actsharpsville@gmail.com. Performance dates are May 18, 19 and 20.

“Porgy & Bess,SDRq directed by Karen Clark-Green and David Vosburgh, Stambaugh Auditorium Christman Room, third floor, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, 330-747-5175, 7 p.m., Nov. 13. Performance will be March 9. The chorus will portray the residents of Catfish Roy, a community established by freed slaves on an island off the coast of the Carolinas. Also available are the roles of Robbins (middle-age actor with some singing) Peter (singer/actor) and The Undertaker (speaking role). Rehearsals will take place at 7 p.m. Mondays starting Jan. 8 at Stambaugh Auditorium.
