Testimony starts in aggravated murder trial of Jawonn Hymes

YOUNGSTOWN

Testimony began today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in the trial of the last of three men accused of killing Thomas Owens, 33, on Nov. 14, 2015, as he sat in a parked car on West Myrtle Avenue.

Jawonn Hymes, 26, faces charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder for the death of Owens of Burbank Avenue and for firing at a car that contained three other people. None of those people were injured.

Judge Lou D’Apolito is hearing the case.
