Niles Halloween parade set for Sunday is canceled

NILES — The Niles Police Department announced the cancellation of the Halloween parade that was scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday. The shooting death of Officer Justin Leo of the Girard Police Department on Saturday “has caused a shift in our priorities,” the department announced in a news release today.

The release added Niles police also may be asked to provide assistance at Leo’s funeral Sunday afternoon in Girard.
