AUCTIONS

Campbell Memorial High School will host a quarter auction at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at St. Michael Byzantine Church, 463 Robinson Road. Cost is $5 for one paddle and $3 for each additional paddle. Proceeds will benefit the Campbell High School classes of 2020 and 2021 and will be used for dances, prom, commencement and more. Local vendors and small business owners will be available to shop during the auction.

Legacy Dog Rescue and Friends of Fido will host a charity spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the William Farr Lodge 672, 1350 Shannon Road, Girard. Cost for the all-you-can-eat homemade pasta dinner is $10, $5 for children under age 12. There will be a basket auction and bake sale. St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St. Girard, will have a quarter auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. in Rosetta Hall. Tickets are $5 each and must be bought in advance. Purchase tickets for a table, which seats eight. Tickets will be sold at the St. Rose Parish office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday or Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants can win gas, restaurant or shopping gift cards, holiday crafts and gifts, baked goods, jewelry and much more for as little as one quarter. Participants must bring quarters. CRAFT SHOWS

American Association of University Women, Warren-Trumbull branch, will have a craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St. Admission and parking will be free. An 8-foot table and two chairs can be reserved for $25. Sandwiches and refreshments may be purchased during show hours. Our Lady of the Lakes Ladies Guild will host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Our Lady of the Lakes Family Center, 1254 Grandview Road, Lake Milton. FESTIVALS

St. Dominic Knights of Columbus Bishop Fenwick Council will host its Oktoberfest and raffle at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Parish Center, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown. FUNDRAISERS

Buhl Park and UPMC's Medical Equipment Recycling Program have joined forces to raise funds and provide the community with a scary good time. Celebrate Halloween, support two organizations and hear Menagerie’s horn section for the first time in nearly a decade. The Rockin’ Halloween Bash takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Tiffany’s Banquet Center in Brookfield. Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at Buhl Park, Quaker Steak and Lube, Mark’s Music, Tiffany’s Banquet Center or online at www.buhlfarmpark.com. Ticket price includes one free drink voucher and light hors d’oeuvres catered by Quaker Steak and Lube. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Farmdale, will have its annual bazaar and turkey dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church. The dinner features turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, squash, cranberry sauce, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and dessert. Carry-outs will be available. Youngstown State University is continuing the lecture series on Energy and the Environment for the fourth academic year in Cushwa Hall, Room B100. This fall the impacts of fossil fuel take center stage. The lectures are free, and there is free parking at street metered-parking spaces along Lincoln Avenue and nearby streets. The speaker series is sponsored in part by The James Dale Ethics Center. The next lecture is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, featuring Bill Dale, founder of Beach Buddies, a volunteer beach-cleaning charity, based in the Isle of Man.

Beatles in Cleveland: The Notorious 1964 and 1966 Concerts will be presented by author Dave Schwensen at 6:30 p.m. next Monday at the Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., Salem. Learn more about the level of excitement of “Beatlemania” in Northeast Ohio during John, Paul, George and Ringo’s visits to Cleveland for two of the wildest and out-of-control concerts in the history of The Beatles. Memorabilia and music will be available for viewing 30 minutes before and after the program. Girard Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary has chosen the USO of Northeastern Ohio as its charity for November. Members and anyone interested are asked to donate baby items, diapers, lotion, baby shampoo, bottles, diaper cream, outfits, blankets (newborn to 6 months) to be given to the USO. The ladies will put together “Baby Sea Bags” and will distribute them to Ohio service members and families who are expecting or have recently added a new member. St. Mark Orthodox Church will host Tony Eid at a Mid-East Hafli at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Metroplex Expo Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Girard. Poland Lions will host a “Blanket of Kindness” Drive from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30, and will be collecting gently used, washable blankets and comforters in all sizes for children and families in need. Stambaugh Auditorium will sponsor its 20th annual fashion show in the Jeanne D. Tyler Grand Ballroom on Nov. 1 beginning at 10:30 a.m. This event will feature fashions from Dillard’s Southern Park Mall and various local boutiques, lunch by Saratoga, raffle items and boutique shopping. Stambaugh Auditorium will present the silent film “Jekyll & Hyde” at 4 p.m. Sunday. Through scientific experiments gone wrong, Dr. Henry Jekyll faces horrible consequences during his transformation into the animalistic Mr. Hyde. Organist Dorothy Papadokos will bring the classic film to life by use of the E.M. Skinner pipe organ.

Sutliff Museum, 444 Mahoning Ave., Warren, has opened a new exhibit that will be open through January 2018. The exhibit is “Musicians and Scholars: the Dana Family of Warren, Ohio.” It explores the origin of the Dana family, through the relationship of Dana to the Sutliff family through Mrs. Phebe Lord Martin Sutliff. Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road in Girard, will host the annual Halloween party at 6 p.m. Saturday. The theme this year is “Past and Future.” Come as a past life, or as a famous person from the past. The future could be a futuristic costume or any creative idea. Come as a present all wrapped up in the present moment or come as you are. Costumes are not required. Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host “History to Go: A View From the Hill” on Saturday. Guided tours of Oak Hill Cemetery, 344 Oak Hill Ave., will begin at 1 and 3 p.m. Tours begin at the entry gates with a brief orientation and continue through the remarkable landscape. Visitors will discover a broad cross-section of the community represented in memorial architecture, landscape design and historic photographs. A donation of $5 per adult is appreciated. Niles SCOPE Senior Center will host its fall foliage bus trip to Middlefied on Thursday. Bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the center, 14 E. Trumbull County Farm Bureau board of trustees invites the public to take a wine tour on Nov. 4 to visit three local destinations: Hartford Hill, Greene Eagle and Country Porch. The tour starts with tasting and a tour at 2:30 p.m. at Hartford Hill Winery and will serve as the first and last stop of the tour. The bus will depart for the next part of the tour at 3:30 p.m. sharp. The bus returns about 6:45 p.m. to Hartford Hill for dinner. The cost for Farm Bureau members is $30; nonmembers is $60.
