D’Apolito recognized

Judge Anthony M. D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court recently was honored by the Ohio Association of Magistrates in Columbus for his efforts as both a magistrate and now a judge.

He was introduced by Atty. Mark Huberman, a former Mahoning County Juvenile and Domestic Relations magistrate who recently retired.

Judge D’Apolito was a magistrate in the county juvenile court for 14 years before being elected to the scommon pleas bench in November 2016.

Marshals awarded

The U.S. Marshals of the Northern District of Ohio recently were awarded two distinguished awards by the United States Marshals Service.

The district received the Distinguished District Award and the Outstanding Task Force Award. The awards were awarded last week in a ceremony in Washington, D.C., at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Peter Elliot, U.S. marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, credited the partnerships with other law-enforcement agencies and the marshals themselves for their success.
