POLAND
Oct. 12
Identity fraud: An Acatello Place woman discovered about $1,825 worth of fraudulent activity to her credit- and debit-card accounts.
Oct. 13
Menacing: A man reported having been stalked while he was at a Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road restaurant.
Oct. 14
Vandalism: About $15,000 in damage was done to a wooden utility pole at Republic Services Carbon Limestone Landfill, 8100 S. State Line Road.
BOARDMAN
Oct. 11
Drugs: Police arrested Dena L. Milanowski, 36, at her South Avenue apartment on warrants charging the Boardman woman with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, related to a May 11 drug overdose at a Carter Circle apartment. Milanowski was found lying on the floor with a bag nearby that contained two needles and a spoon with burn marks common in drug use, a report showed.
Arrest: Jaylin R. Cartagena, 18, who listed Youngstown addresses on Lake Drive and East Midlothian Boulevard, was taken into custody in the 4100 block of Windsor Road. She was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court on one misdemeanor count of possessing dangerous drugs.
Theft: Ohio State Highway Patrol in Tallmadge handed to township authorities custody of Micah R. Anderson, 61, who faced a felony-theft charge. The Akron woman was accused of stealing nine $150 pairs of eyeglasses May 25 from America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, 439 Boardman-Poland Road.
Drugs: Officers at a South Avenue health care center arrested Edna Hector, 33, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Youngstown, on a felony drug-abuse charge after a nurse alleged having found in Hector’s room a bag that contained five over-the-counter pills that the facility had not dispensed.
Oct. 12
Drugs: A traffic stop on Southern Boulevard led to the arrest of Jaron D. Martin, 24, of Broadway, Youngstown, on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia when, authorities alleged, Martin had a bag of suspected marijuana on his person and a digital scale with drug residue in the glove compartment.
Menacing: A township man told police someone pulled into his driveway and looked into windows to his residence before fleeing in a silver Ford Sedan.
Theft: A worker for a Market Street restaurant noticed her $700 iPhone and its case missing from behind a counter.
Assault: A Boardman man alleged his wife’s former husband pushed and grabbed him, causing the accuser to fall, then kicked him in the legs during a fight outside of a store in Shops at Boardman Park on U.S. Route 224.
Identity theft: A Struthers man at an Annawan Lane residence told officers that after having applied online for a loan, he received a series of calls from a Panama, Fla., company saying the business would deposit $700 into his account, then instructing the accuser to redeposit the sum into the company’s account. After becoming suspicious and declining further services, the man said the caller threatened to withdraw $1,400 from his account, though he lost no money.
Theft: East Palestine police handed to Boardman authorities Brett J. Young of West North Avenue, East Palestine, who was wanted on a theft warrant. Young, 30, was accused of taking about $172 worth of socks and undergarments Sept. 30 from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.
Oct. 13
Arrest: Authorities arrested Donna M. Dibo, 36, at her Market Street apartment. The Boardman woman was wanted on a Campbell warrant.
Arrest/citations: A 15-year-old Boardman boy was charged with obstructing official business and criminal trespassing after several Lost Creek Drive residents found out their vehicles had been broken into and when, police said, the teen tried to hide from them in a large pile of leaves. In addition, three township boys, 15, 16 and 17, were cited on curfew-violation charges.
Arrest: Ashley P. Powell of Delaware Avenue, Youngstown, was taken into custody after police had pulled her over on Route 224. Powell, 27, was wanted on a Liberty Township warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Theft: A 16-year-old Struthers boy was accused of stealing a $47 set of headphones from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Fraud: A teller with PNC Bank in Southern Park Mall told authorities a man had passed a stolen $2,910 check before Poland Township police arrested him.
Attempted theft: A Ron Park Place man discovered someone had rummaged through his car before fleeing through neighboring backyards.
Auto theft: A 2013 Kia Optima was stolen in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive.
Theft: One wallet each was removed from two vehicles in the 100 block of Lost Creek Drive.
Theft: A man reportedly stole a can of soda from a Shell True North gas station, 5135 Market St.
Harassment: A Lemont Drive woman told police she received a text message that contained two inappropriate photographs, including one of a family member.
Theft: A woman reported a laptop computer, a puppy and two TVs stolen from her Chester Drive home. The estimated loss was $1,715.
Bad check: An Ivy Hill Drive man reported getting a fraudulent check as payment for an electric scooter he had posted for sale on Craigslist.
Theft: A Market Street woman noticed $7 and four prescription medications missing from her vehicle.
Fraud: A Locust Avenue woman told authorities her son was scammed of $700 after two callers who claimed to represent the U.S. Treasury Department stated he was one of 600 people who supposedly had been selected to receive a federal loan.
Menacing: A Columbus man said he had received a threatening call while he was in the 6400 block of Tara Drive.
Harassment: A Risher Road woman reported a man had made six unwanted calls regarding a dog.
Arrest: Suspicious activity in the 6000 block of Market Street caught officers’ attention before they took Miriah L. Provitt, 24, into custody. Provitt, of Wilda Avenue, Boardman, was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Trumbull County.
Theft: Several vehicles were broken into on Ron Park Place. Money, credit cards and other small items were missing.
Robbery/vandalism: Two women reportedly stole $89 worth of clothing from Gabe’s, 850 Boardman-Poland Road, then struck a store detective with a shopping cart and assaulted loss-prevention officials before damaging and rendering inoperable a set of doors and fleeing.
Theft: A $100 Kindle device was taken from a car in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive.
Trespassing: Someone rummaged through a vehicle in the 800 block of Golfview Drive, though nothing appeared to have been stolen.
Theft: A woman reportedly stole $483 worth of merchandise from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A supervisor with Marc’s, 7121 Tiffany Blvd., told police two women and a male short-changed the grocery store $280.
Possible fraud: A Boardman woman reported having gotten a FedEx envelope that contained 10 $50 money orders she had not expected.
Drugs: A township woman told authorities that while in the 7200 block of Market Street, a man placed a bag of a suspicious powder in her truck. The material later tested positive for 0.2 grams of fentanyl, a report said.
Breaking and entering: Someone forcibly entered Tiffany’s Bar & Grille, 7120 Tiffany Blvd., via the front door, though it appeared nothing was missing.
Theft: A car was entered on Wildwood Drive. Nothing seemed to be missing, however.
Oct. 14
Assaults: Police received information that a woman had bitten a Boardman man and that the man had reportedly struck her as they argued during a car ride in the township, though neither wished to file charges against the other.
Theft: A Hudson Drive man told officers someone had removed flowers from his neighbor’s driveway.
Menacing: A man reported a driver pointed a stun gun at him while they were stopped in traffic at Route 224 and Market Street after the motorist had reportedly cut the man off.
Theft: A Sylvia Lane man discovered two wallets missing from his vehicle.
Recovered property: A 2010 Mazda CX9 was found in Youngstown after a Loma Vista Drive woman had reported the car stolen.
Theft: A Shorehaven Drive woman reported her purse, $60, a concealed-carry permit and other property missing from her car.
Theft: A Mount Pleasant, Pa., woman staying at a South Avenue motel discovered 80 over-the-counter medications missing from her room.
Assault: A Larkridge Avenue woman and her boyfriend each reported having been assaulted by the other after a party they had attended near Ewing Road.
Oct. 15
Assault: An employee with a McClurg Road restaurant alleged a co-worker poked and pushed him in the chest during an argument, though the accuser was not injured.
Criminal damaging: A man discovered damage to a portion of aluminum siding, and that someone had tossed a liquid on the front and side of his Argyle Avenue home.
Criminal damaging: A Salem man at Southern Park Mall noticed a key had been used to scrawl an obscenity on his vehicle, which resulted in $600 worth of damage to the finish.
Theft: A township woman learned that $324 had been removed from her room at a Boardman hospital.
Oct. 16
Harassment: A Roche Way woman said her former boyfriend had made unwanted contact with her that included threatening statements.
Drugs: After pulling them over on Doral Drive, authorities charged Pamela T. Kerby, 24, of Shadyside Drive, Boardman, with possession of a drug-abuse instrument, and Andre F. Wilson, 20, of Cook Avenue, Boardman, with possession of drug paraphernalia. Two suspected crack-cocaine pipes, copper mesh and a course scouring pad often used to smoke crack cocaine were found, a report stated.
