Edward Airhart of Warren won $500,000 Friday from a $10 lottery ticket he purchased from Lottery & News Connection, 8280 E. Market St. The winning ticket was Seasons Greetings, a recently released ticket from the Ohio Lottery. After federal and state taxes, Airhart received $355,000.

Man faces charges

A man faces charges of disorderly conduct and theft after police responded Thursday to a call of an intoxicated man at Yankee Kitchen on Market Street, according to a police report.

Derek Chittock, 31, of Beloit, was arrested on a warrant for grand theft auto, the report said.

Police said they were called to the restaurant because Chittock was visibly drunk, slurring his words and staggering, the report said.

Chittock told police he was not drunk but had been drinking a malt alcohol beverage. He was given a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct, the report said.

Chittock was taken into custody by Sebring Police Department after being booked at Boardman Police Department.

$10,000 donation

YOUNGSTOWN

Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley received a $10,000 donation Friday from the Giant Eagle Foundation to help the organization feed families.

The food bank, located at 2805 Salt Springs Road, serves people in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties through nearly 150 relief programs. Giant Eagle regularly donates food to Second Harvest from its stores.
