He was found unconscious on Ron Joy Place April 14 and in a parking lot on Boardman-Canfield Road April 21, police said.

Russo was given two doses of Narcan after the first overdose, the report said. Police took him to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after the second overdose because he hit his head. Police recovered a syringe from Russo’s pocket after the second overdose.

Treasurer to retire

NILES

Linda Molinaro, treasurer of Niles city schools for more than 17 years, announced Thursday at the board of education meeting she will retire at the end of this year. “I just turned 65 Wednesday,” she said when asked what led to her decision. Her announcement comes as the school district pushes for voter approval of a 9.25-mill levy on the Nov. 7 ballot. Molinaro said passage of the levy, which would generate $2 million annually, is critical to the district’s financial future. Niles schools face a projected deficit of $514,000 by next June.

As treasurer, Molinaro worked with state auditors to help the district emerge from fiscal watch last year. Niles schools had been in fiscal watch for 13 years.

Sentenced to 8 years

WARREN

A Trumbull County judge sentenced Adam J. Myers, 34, of Sheridan Street, Niles, to eight years in prison Wednesday. Myers pleaded guilty to one count of rape in September. Myers raped a 14-year-old girl in January, according to his indictment. He received his sentence from Judge W. Wyatt McKay of common pleas court. Myers could have received up to 11 years in prison.

Life prison sentence

WARREN

Craig S. Gillette, 29, of the Cleveland area, will get a life prison sentence Nov. 13 after a jury convicted him Thursday of two counts of rape and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Gillette was convicted of having sex twice with a 12-year-old girl in late 2012 and engaging in sexual conduct with the girl three times when she was 13.

The verdict was rendered in the courtroom of Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Diane Barber, assistant county prosecutor, said Gillette previously had been convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and also was convicted four times of violating sex-offender requirements imposed because of his earlier sex offense.

All the earlier offenses occurred in Cuyahoga, Summit and Portage counties, Barber said.
