YOUNGSTOWN
Rust Belt Theater Company will present a building-wide Hallowen party at Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday. Admission is $10.
The evening will include live music, immersive theater, dance, screenings of classic zombie films and actor-guided tours of the notoriously haunted building.
“There will be events taking place on every floor, including guided tours of the paranormal hot spots of this 115-year-old schoolhouse,” said Robert Dennick Joki, director of Rust Belt. “We will be opening up parts of the building that the public has never been allowed to view.”
Attendees will be given a map of the building and a schedule of events upon entrance. Horror makeup artists will be on hand for patrons who would like to be turned into zombies. There also will be prize giveaways throughout the evening and a costume contest at midnight.
Activities on the first floor will include the Zombie Prom, hosted by Bonnie Rocket; a costume contest, zombie film screenings, horror makeup by Rachel Clifford, palm readings by Madame Savauge, haunting melodies by Bernadette Lim, and a behind-the-scenes tour of paranormal hot spots.
The second floor will have a performance of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” by Rust Belt Theater Company; “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll, performed by Mary James; and fortune teller Madame Geldina.
On the third floor, there will be live music by the Grease Monkeys, Leo DeAngelo and others.
