UPDATE | Pair arrested after fatal shooting on West Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Two men, James Perry of East Lucius Avenue and Jesse Stewart of East Philadelphia Avenue, both 19, have been arrested on charges of aggravated murder.

Police named the victim as Evan Amos, 22, who was shot to death about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday at a home on the West Side.

A news release from the police department said Evans answered a knock on the door at a home on South Lakeview Avenue and when he opened he was shot several times.

Police are looking for evidence on South Portland Avenue.

If the death is ruled a homicide, it would be the 17th homicide of 2017 in the city. In 2016 Youngstown had 18 homicides. At this point last year Youngstown had 15 homicides.
