Emerging Leaders to host event Friday

Emerging Leaders, an advisory board dedicated to raising funds for Akron Children’s Hospital, will host its sixth annual Dancing for Kids event at 7 p.m. Friday at Akron Civic Theatre. The event is presented by Northwestern Mutual and benefits cancer research at the hospital’s Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Dancing for the Kids features 10 dancers and their respective partners from the University of Akron. Community members may vote for the performer of choice by making an online donation or by attending the event. Tickets are $10 for students or children and $25 for regular admission.
