Badger High offers silly, spooky skits

KINSMAN

Badger High School will present “Silly Skits for the Spooky Soul,” a collection of nine 10-minute comedy skits with a Halloween theme.

Performances will at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28, and 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in the school auditorium, 7119 state Route 7. Admission is $7 ($4 for seniors and students).

Halloween Heckler comedy show

NILES

The Halloween Heckler comedy show will take place Oct. 28 at Nic’s Lounge, 1629 N. Main St., featuring Tim Wolfe, and with hosts Jon Huff and Dwan Ford. The show starts at 9 p.m. Admission is $5.

Dressing in costume is encouraged. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Heckler and Best Costume.

The show will include performances by comedians Nikkia Stewart, Andreas O’Rourke, Joey Purse, Steve Miers, Dino, Will Hopkins, Dave Laughlin, Mike Meadows, Lex Godoy, Izzy Rhue, Ryan Weiss, Christopher Scriva and Ian McIntosh.

‘Trailer Park Boys’ star Dunsworth dies

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia

A Canadian actor best known for his role as an alcoholic trailer park supervisor in the Netflix comedy series “Trailer Park Boys” has died. John Dunsworth was 71.

His daughter, Sarah Dunsworth, announced his death on Twitter on Monday, saying in a statement her father died “peacefully after a short and unexpected illness.”

She didn’t say where or when Dunsworth died. Ryan Cameron, a spokesman for the actor, tells The Associated Press that he’s “heartbroken and will miss him dearly.”

Dunsworth played Mr. Lahey on “Trailer Park Boys,” which developed a cult following during its initial run on Canada’s Showcase from 2001 to 2007 before being revived by Netflix in 2014.

Dunsworth also had a recurring role as Dave Teagues for several seasons on the SyFy and Showcase series “Haven.”
