YOUNGSTOWN

The planning commission Tuesday recommended city council permit a business wanting to sell medical marijuana to be allowed to open at 3321 Mahoning Ave., a former bank building in the Mahoning Plaza.

The recommendation came after a presentation from A.J. Caraballo, a pharmacist and co-owner of Holistic Health Partners LLC. Holistic is one of three businesses interested in opening a medical marijuana dispensary in the city. It has an option to lease the plaza location should the state grant it a license.

Missing boater

WARREN

Three cadaver dogs on boats plus four other boats, some equipped with sonar, continued the search Tuesday for a man missing on Mosquito Lake since Sunday morning.

The search began at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and was to continue until near dark in an effort to “pinpoint the search area” for the man’s body, said Ohio Department of Natural Resources public information officer Stephanie Leis.

John Schuster, 51, of the Youngstown-Girard area, went missing after the 12-foot plastic canoe he and a companion were in overturned near the middle of the lake. The other man was rescued by a passing boater, but Schuster has not been found and is presumed to have drowned.
