YOUNGSTOWN

The board of trustees for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County meets at 8 a.m. today in the meeting room at the Main Library, 305 Wick Ave. The board plans to adjourn into an executive session and, after that, appoint a new executive director. The finalists for the job are Michelle Alleman, director of the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles; Patricia Crosby, assistant director of the Pickens County Library System in South Carolina; Aimee Fifarek, deputy director of information technology and digital initiatives at the Phoenix Public Library in Arizona; and Maria Gebhardt, manager of integrated marketing communications and social media for Broward County Public Schools in Florida.

Small-plane crash

GUSTAVUS

A single-engine plane crashed Monday night in rural Gustavus Township in northern Trumbull County.The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it received word of the crash at 9:10 p.m. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. A passenger appeared to be unharmed. The state patrol is investigating.

Maxing his money

CORTLAND

Arthur Black of Cortland won a $1 million payout after purchasing a scratch-off “Max the Money” ticket. Black was on vacation when he bought the ticket. He will receive payouts of $40,000 annually for 25 years. Black bought the winning ticket from a Murphy USA gas station near Cortland.
