Five arraigned in kidnapping case

YOUNGSTOWN

Bond was set Monday at $30,000 each for five people accused of keeping three people against their will last week in a dispute over a stolen car.

Nicole Foley, 22, of Dryden Avenue, and Shawn Foley, 26, Megan Noel, 21, and Marietta Foley, 48, all of East Pasadena Avenue, and Derrick Thomas, 45, were all taken to the Mahoning County jail after police were called about 12:45 a.m. Friday to an East Dewey Avenue home on the South Side.

That led officers to the home on East Pasadena, where three males told them they were held against their will by five people who accused them of stealing a car.

The three males told police they were forced at gunpoint by one of the women to drive to the East Pasadena home, where one of the males was held in a room with a padlock and another was held in a car while the third male went and retrieved a stolen car.

All five were also issued no-contact orders to stay away from the male who was held in the room and the male who was held in the car.

The five were kept in the jail over the weekend as police investigated the case. Kidnapping charges were not filed until Monday.
