Search continues for missing man in Mosquito Lake

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources took over the search today for a man missing since 10:24 a.m. Sunday in Mosquito Lake.

This boat entered the water shortly after 8:30 a.m. not far from the east side of the lake near the Imagination Station playground and baseball fields.

Officials planned to use sonar and dogs to continue the search that began Sunday. Bazetta fire and police officials are also on hand assisting ODNR.

John Schuster, 51, of the Youngstown area, went missing after the canoe he and a companion were using capsized in the middle of the lake.

The companion was rescued by a passing boater. He was wearing a life jacket and refused treatment at the scene. Schuster was not wearing a life preserver.
