Nursing program at YSU marks 50th year

The Youngstown State University Nursing program celebrates its 50th anniversary with a dinner on Saturday in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus.

The event, titled “YSU Nursing: 50 Years of Caring,” will include tours of nursing and simulation labs in Cushwa Hall, while the dinner will include music by The Hubcaps.

The department enrolls more than 350 undergraduate students and 80 graduate students and boasts more than 4,300 alumni. Ninety-five percent of graduates with bachelor’s degrees in nursing are employed in their field within six months of graduation.
