The Department of Theatre and Dance at Youngstown State University will present “Something Old, Something New, Something Dead, Something Boo” at 7 p.m. Friday in the Eleanor Beecher Flad Pavilion of the DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St., downtown.

Tickets for the fundraiser event are $25 per person. Call 330-744-0264 or go to youngstownsymphony.com. Beer, wine, mixed drinks and soft drinks as well as hors d’oeuvres will be available for purchase.

In true cabaret style, students from the YSU theater and dance programs will perform selections from various shows with a Halloween theme, including “Carrie,” “Wicked,” “The Addams Family,” “Sweeney Todd,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Young Frankenstein” and “Jekyll and Hyde.”

Audience members will also get a sneak preview of YSU’s upcoming production of “Spring Awakening.”

Interspersed throughout the evening will be a selection of monologues featuring student artists.

“This is a new opportunity and venue in which our students can perform and support the economic revitalization of downtown Youngstown,” said Matthew Mazuroski, theater and dance department chairman. “All proceeds will be used to enrich our students’ undergraduate experience through travel and professional development, and engaging guest artists and increasing our artistic and cultural impact in the area.

Parking is free on the street or in adjacent lots for a small fee; handicapped parking is in the DeYor lot adjacent to the box office and subject to availability.
