SENIOR CITIZENS


AARP 4611 East will meet Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1413 Belmont Ave. The executive board will meet at 11 a.m., and the general meeting will follow at noon. Cora Lewis, Infant Mortality Coalition and Community Engagement coordinator, will speak. Plans for the Thanksgiving luncheon and the Christmas Party with a gift exchange will be discussed. All members will attend service at 10:15 a.m. next Sunday at Price Memorial AME Zion Church, 920 Dryden Ave., Youngstown. Guests are welcome. There will be a 50-50 raffle. School supplies are needed. AFSCME Retiree Chapter 1184 will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Union Hall, 150 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Girard Golden Eagles will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Amen Corner, Girard.

Girard OldTimers will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for a luncheon meeting at Lamancusa Restaurant on Trumbull Road in Girard.

Holy Family Seniors will not meet on its regular day in October. The meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in Holy Family Parish Hall, 2729 Center Road., Poland. Hostesses for the Halloween themed meeting will be Rina Carano, Fran Furan, Kay D’Apolito, and Ida Miller. Lunch will be served at noon followed by bingo and card games. Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for breakfast at Denny’s Restaurant in Boardman. New members are welcome.

Liberty 55 Plus Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Assembly, Cardinal Drive, Liberty. Members are to take a brown bag lunch. Lee Anne Martyak will preside, and hostesses will be Pat Vlock and Margaret Wilson. Cards will be played, and October birthdays acknowledged.

Niles SCOPE Senior Center will host a Fall Foliage bus trip to Middlefied on Oct. 26. Bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the center, 14 E. State St., and will return about 5 p.m. Trip includes two meals; an Amish Tea Party with a sandwich and an Amish Wedding dinner in an Amish home. Cost is $75 person. The bus will depart for the Ohio Playhouse Theater for “A Christmas Carol.” Lunch is planned for Massimo da Milano with a return at approximately 5 p.m.

Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2, Chapter 10, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive, Door 108. Information will be discussed from the statewide meeting in Columbus.
