George Bollas threw two third-quarter touchdown passes, including an 84-yarder to Mike Carrigan for the go-ahead score, and Kent State rallied for a victory over Miami (Ohio). The Golden Flashes (2-5, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) trailed 14-3 when Bollas connected with Justin Rankin from 4 yards out at the 8:43 mark and then hit Carrigan on the first play after a RedHawks punt. Bollas finished with 154 yards on 9-of-14 passing. Carrigan totaled 101 yards on three receptions and also had a 61-yard run on his only carry of the game. Miami controlled the first half in taking a 14-3 lead behind backup quarterback Billy Bahl, who was filling in for injured starter Gus Ragland. Bahl connected with James Gardner for a 13-yard score at 8:56 of the second quarter and then hit Ryan Smith for a 2-yarder with 33 seconds left before halftime. Bahl finished 12 of 29 for 174 yards and two interceptions. Alonzo Smith led all rushers with 96 yards on 14 carries for the RedHawks.
Ohio 48, Bowling Green 30
BOWLING GREEN
Nathan Rourke and A.J. Ouellette each rushed for more than 120 yards and combined for five touchdowns as Ohio galloped past Bowling Green. Rourke, along with two blockers, sprinted up the left sideline 75 yards to score late in the third quarter, answering a Bowling Green TD that had put the Falcons ahead 23-21. After Rourke’s TD run, the Bobcats (5-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) never trailed again. Rourke finished with 143 yards rushing, three TDs and also passed for 105 yards and a touchdown. Ouellette added 123 yards rushing and scoring runs of 6 and 2 yards. Andrew Meyer hauled in a 40-yard bomb from Rourke for a 34-23 lead. Two fumbles and two interceptions hurt Bowling Green (1-6, 1-2) Freshman Andrew Clair rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Ohio, the defending MAC East champion, has traded division titles with Bowling Green the last four seasons.
Northern Illinois 14, Buffalo 13
BUFFALO, N.Y.
Marcus Childers passed for one of Northern Illinois’ touchdowns and ran for the other as the Huskies held on through a scoreless second half for a win over Buffalo. The Huskies (4-2, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) had two missed two field goals in the second half, but the Bulls (3-4, 1-2) failed to capitalize, missing their own field-goal attempt early in the fourth quarter. The NIU defense then had an interception and forced a three-and-out on Buffalo’s final two drives. Childers finished with 224 yards passing and 79 yards rushing in his first career start.
Army 28, Eastern Michigan 27
WEST POINT, N.Y.
Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 171 yards and one touchdown, Darnell Woolfolk broke a fourth-quarter tie with a 13-yard run, and James Gibson made a dramatic goal line tackle on a two-point conversion attempt in the final minute as Army held off Eastern Michigan. A week after winning for the first time on the road, Army (5-2) kept its perfect record at home intact after four games. Eastern Michigan (2-4) has lost four straight, and all have been one-possession games. Bradshaw guided the Black Knights on a decisive 16-play, 83-yard drive that took 8:59 off the clock in the fourth quarter, all on the ground. Bradshaw’s 13-yard run set up Woolfolk’s 13-yard scoring run with 5:06 left.
Toledo 30, Central Michigan 10
MOUNT PLEASANT, MICH.
Terry Swanson ran for two touchdowns as Toledo took an early lead and held it, beating Central Michigan in the pouring rain. Swanson finished with a career-high 177 yards for the Rockets (5-1, 2-0 Mid-American Conference). Shakif Seymour ran for 119 yards and a score, Logan Woodside threw for 89 yards and Jameson Vest kicked a field goal. Swanson had scoring runs of 48 and 22 yards in the first half, helping the Rockets build a 17-0 lead.

Western Michigan’s matchup with Akron was postponed due to flooding on the playing field caused by heavy rains. The game has been rescheduled for this afternoon.
