Arconic inks contract

NILES

Arconic has signed a multiyear titanium sheet and plate contract with Ducommun Inc., an aerospace and defense manufacturer.

Under the agreement, Arconic’s Titanium and Engineered Products business unit will supply titanium to Ducommun, which uses its proprietary hot-forming and super-plastic forming processes to produce aircraft structures for military and commercial aircraft platforms. The deal significantly increases the amount of titanium mill products Arconic supplies to Ducommun.

Arconic Titanium and Engineered Products has been a supplier to Ducommun for 25 years. Arconic will produce the titanium sheet and plate at its facility in Niles and distribute the products from its facility in Norwalk, Calif.

Changes at Eastwood

NILES

At Home, a home decor superstore, is coming in mid-2018 to a 84,780-square-foot space occupied by Burlington at the Eastwood Mall Complex.

Arrangements are being finalized to relocate Burlington to a new space in the complex.

When it opens, it will be the only At Home store within 75 miles. At Home offers more than 50,000 items across broad product categories.

Also at the complex, JoAnn is moving from its current space in the Great East Plaza to a larger, 22,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Office Max. The new location should be ready within the next two months.

Two other additions also are preparing to open at the Eastwood Complex by November: Mizu, a Japanese restaurant, will be next to Pep Boys, and Pandora will open in the mall’s center court.

Chamber plans power lunch event

NILES

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a power lunch event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vernon’s, 720 Youngstown-Warren Road.

Each month the chamber schedules power breakfast, lunch or after hours events to bring members together to start building meaningful networks. Time and space is limited, and these events often sell out, so advanced registration is required.

The event is free to attend and attendees order off a limited menu.
