BOYS GOLF

In the Division III state tournament at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course, Columbiana’s Jared Wilson shot a 69 and has the lead after the first day of competition. Brookfield is in sixth place in team competition powered by Connor Stevens’ 73. The other Warriors scores were: Justin Atkinson, 81; Nate Smoot, 87; Jon Hiner, 89; and Jake Shingledecker, 92. Warren JFK’s Jimmy Graham shot 81. In Div. II, the Ursuline boys golf team is in 10th place and Poland is in 12th after the first day of competition at NorthStar Golf Course in Sunbury. Drew Murphy shot an 82 to lead the Irish. Colin Faloon and Alex Stoneman shot 85s while Carl Ross shot 87 and Seamus Chrystal 88. Zach Howard and Alex Rapp led the Bulldogs with 87s. Jake Snyder shot a 91, Kyle Koziel 99 and Luke Nord 102.
